Our intention is to engage, inspire and challenge all our children to develop a love of languages and an appreciation of different cultures. At Steyning C of E Primary School, Spanish is taught as a discrete subject and opportunities are taken to make cross-curricular links where relevant. Through our carefully sequenced progression map and engaging curriculum, we aim to equip children with the knowledge, skills and confidence to communicate in Spanish. Pupils develop their speaking, listening, reading and writing skills, whilst building an understanding of the language and the cultures of Spanish-speaking countries. We strive to foster curiosity, resilience and a lifelong enthusiasm for language learning.
