Nature School
As part of our commitment to holistic learning, every child at our school will have the opportunity to take part in Nature School sessions.
Nature School is our outdoor learning provision, designed to help children engage with the natural environment and contribute to the improvement of our school grounds. We are proud to follow the National Education Nature Park programme, which promotes nature-based learning within the curriculum and encourages young people across the country to take positive action for both themselves and the environment.
Through Nature School, children develop their self-esteem and confidence, while also strengthening important life skills such as teamwork, independence, and communication.
During these sessions, pupils take part in a wide range of activities to enhance and care for our outdoor spaces. These may include planting pollinator-friendly plants, caring for wildlife in our pond, installing bird boxes, or growing fruit and vegetables for harvest. Children also take responsibility for monitoring the living things in our environment and observing how they grow and change.
By participating in Nature School sessions, our pupils build a meaningful connection with nature. They develop a deeper understanding of biodiversity, climate issues, and the actions they can take to make a difference. Alongside this, they strengthen valuable skills in decision-making, communication, and creative thinking.
