Nine teams attended the annual Southern Area Girls Football Finals, held at The Angmering School, on a very cold and blustery evening. Every time they played each team would try and get the end where the wind was behind them, as when you took a throw in the ball tended to come straight back to you due to the strength of the wind.
Our first four games were drawn with chances created but not taken to earn a win. Finally we got our first and only win against St Margarets of Angmering, with a goal smartly taken by Poppy Walton, a great prospect for next year. Unfortunately we then lost the next two games against Riverbeach, who were the eventual winners and West Park through a penalty given in the last two minutes. Our last game against Arundel also ended in a draw, making five draws overall, two losses and a win. That meant that we finished seventh, a fair position after drawing so many games. I would like to thank all the players for their hard work and dedication and I look forward to next year.
