Steyning were invited to take part in a Swimming Gala against The Towers, held in their pool on a very warm spring afternoon. Mrs Scozzi stepped in at the last moment and took the team as Mr Knowles was unwell, which meant that she returned to her old school this time in charge of a sporting team. Four girls from each Key Stage 2 Year Group swam in 24 different races, some including Butterfly which is incredibly difficult.
There were some outstanding performances throughout the gala with individual wins for Rosie Martin, Olivia La Pellac-Ballantyne, Elsie Graves, Tanya and Eve Goggin. But the real success came in the relays as our girls won seven out of nine relays and coming second in three. Overall The Towers won by 152 points to 140, which is an outstanding performance from our girls and I look forward to next year with real delight.
